Blogmas Day 30 - What I am looking forward to in 2017

Blogmas Day 30
Hey, so with 2016 almost over I can’t wait for 2017 and so I want to share with you what I am looking forward to in 2017:

Re-decorating my room – so recently I have well I guess decided to re – decorate my room and I am currently half way through it and I have decided on the colour scheme of a light purple and grey and I have already decided on my furniture and I cannot wait for my room to finally come together and feel life a proper room again, I would also love to hear what you think would go with the colour scheme I have chosen or any Pinterest boards that would be helpful.

Having another fun summer – so every year I try to have great summers and each they get better and better so this year I am hoping that the pattern in the same way and this means that I am so excited this year for my summer because as you get older I feel like that you can do more fun things so each year you have more opportunities to do more exciting things and so this year I cannot wait to plan lots of fun things to do with my friends and family.

The Annual Celebration – so you will probably have noticed that I love everything about all the annual holidays, so when it comes to Christmas, Halloween, Easter and sometimes even Valentine’s Day I start to plan for these holidays months before and I get so excited I become incredibly festive and to be honest at these times of the year I could 100% even be considered crazy and this is something I love forward to every year.

Baking more – so I really enjoy baking and over the summer and winter especially I have been doing a lot more baking and I am actually really excited to share with you some of the recipes that I have been making and there are definitely some things that I want to try and bake and although I know some of them will probably not turn out how I want them but I want to try as many new things as possible.

Continuing writing this blog – so over the past year I have definitely been having lots of fun writing this and I hope that I can continue writing this for the next year and after that as well, I am actually so excited to plan everything that I am going to write next year, also I would love to know what you would like to read as one of my posts next year, I would actually really love to know which of my posts are your favourite.

I hope you enjoyed this and let me know what you are looking forward to in 2017. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. Thats all for now,

Blogmas Day 29 - December Favourites

Blogmas Day 29
Hey, so I am so sad because not only is Christmas and 2016 nearly over but December is nearly over so before 2017 starts I’m going to share with you my December favourites:

Makeup:

Nyx Intense Butter Gloss in Black Cherry Tart – so I feel like I should have tried this product a little earlier in the year because it would have been the perfect colour for autumn but this is such a gorgeous deep purple which looks great on the lips with a really nice sheen to it and to be honest with you I love all Nyx products which you will read more about later because they have such a great quality for the price.

Seventeen Shimmer Brick in Gold Bronze – so we all know that I love a good highlight especially in winter even though I just love a nice highlight and this is honestly the best highlighter that I have ever tried and I use it every day and without trying to sound full of myself but I do get quite a few compliments on this highlighter, I also think that the quality and lasting strength of this product is great especially for the price.

Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint and Shaping pencil in Brownie Points – now I have spoken about this a lot recently but this is currently my favourite brow product because I find it so easy to help fill in my eyebrows with and it helps it create such a nice shape that works well with the face and I just love using it and I think that it would be really good for beginners who are just starting out with makeup because this product is so easy to use.

Body, Skin and Hair:

Tea Tree Anti-Perfection Daily Solution – so I actually love body shop skincare because I think that it really works well and recently I have been having loads of breakouts but when I started using this on my skin, it feels so much more smoothed as my scars and blemishes have all started to fade and the amount of breakouts I have been having have seriously decreased and if you have problems like me then I seriously suggest you try this.

Soap and Glory Clean on me Creamy moisture shower gel – so this month I have spoken a lot about how I need to keep moisturised during the winter despite the fact that you must know by now that I have really skin but to be honest this is the most gorgeous smelling shower gel I have ever had and I think that it is quickly becoming one of my favourite scents mind you I love all soap and glory products and it is one of my favourite brands.

Music:

Wrapped in Red by Kelly Clarkson – now by this I don’t just mean the song I also mean the album, I actually love Kelly Clarkson in general but I think that this particular album is great and to be honest it includes a lot of my favourite versions of some of my favourite Christmas songs and I also think that the original songs that she put on the album are becoming some of my favourite Christmas songs of all time especially ‘Underneath the tree’.

TV

Christmas films – so you will probably have noticed by now that I love watching Christmas films and it is one of my favourite things to do in winter so it will be no surprise to you that I just could not ignore putting this in my favourites this month so i have really been enjoying spending my evenings watching movies, wrapping presents and writing these posts and to be honest this could not have been more fun and I’m really happy Christmas films exist.

Random thing:

NYX Products – so you will probably have noticed that I have been using a lot more Nyx products recently since boots recently have put the brand into their store which I have been absolutely loving and to be honest with you, out of all their products that I have tried so far I have absolutely loved the majority of them and I truly cannot wait to try loads more products and I am actually considering doing a post on reviewing them all so let me know if you would like that.

I hope you enjoyed this and let me know what you have been loving this December. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. Thats all for now,

Blogmas Day 28 - What to do after Christmas

Blogmas Day 28
Hey, so I know a lot of people like me after Christmas always find themselves wondering what to do with themselves after Christmas so today I thought I would share with you what I do after Christmas:

Plan and prepare for the New Year – so if you have been reading my posts for a while you will probably have realised that I can be an absolute control freak so planning for the new year or planning new year’s eve or my plans for 2017 is something that I really enjoy and although some people may think that I am insane, this is definitely one of my favourite things of starting a new year and if you can be an organiser I suggest you try it.

Write a bucket list for 2017 – so I actually have a really long bucket list that I want to complete by the end of my life but I like to split it up into setting myself targets on sections to complete each year although I do some spontaneously but doing this means you can do more of your list, I think that this is important especially because my bucket list is always growing and I worry that unless I plan ahead I may never get to finish my list.

Try something new Рso you will hear me say this a lot and will probably start to get boring but I really enjoy doing new things and I think although it is very much a clich̩ I think that doing new things at the start of the year is the best way to do things because you have a chance to really work it into your daily routine and make something new a part of your life and I honestly love doing something new and changing my daily routine.

Involve yourself in a new hobby – so I feel like at the start of the year, this is your chance to do something to better your life and throwing yourself into a hobby when you have limited work to do, this allows you to broaden yourself to lots of more activities that you can enjoy for a long time, also I really love to try new things because it just means that you learn more about yourself and you get to learn something new.

Change something about yourself – so I strongly believe in the statement new year, new you so every year I try to change something about myself for the better, not only to make myself a better person each year but so that over my entire life I will end up as a much better person than how I started off, I also try to start off the new year by doing something completely selfish and although I really like to do this the whole time I try to make a real difference at the start of the year.

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what you like to do after Christmas. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. Thats all for now,

Blogmas Day 27 - My Favourite Part Of This Christmas

Blogmas Day 27
Hey, so Christmas is always fun but there are different parts of each year that I love more than other parts so today I thought I would share with you what my favourite part of this Christmas was and although it’s going to be a short post I hope you enjoy it:

My Christmas Eve tradition – so every year for the past few years me and my family come together to have a family dinner while watching Love Actually and I cry every time (because who doesn’t love that movie) and I hope to be doing this tradition with my family for years to come, so this year not only was the meal great but it was like one of those nights that for no particular reason just feels great and you know it will become one of your best memories.

Opening my stocking with my parents and my sister – so this is something that I have done for, I’m guessing although I don’t remember, every year of my entire life so as part of tradition this year is no different and this is definitely one of my favourite parts of Christmas because of how fun tradition is because I just love sitting with my parents and opening my stocking as the very first thing I do on Christmas morning.

Watching Christmas films on Boxing Day – so although me and my family have a tradition for how we spend our time on Boxing Day but this year due to a series of unfortunate events which I was very upset about, this year we couldn’t do this tradition however I did enjoy this year cuddling up on the sofa with a hot chocolate watching lots of Christmas films and it just makes you realise how much you should appreciate the little moments.

I hope you enjoyed this and let me know what you loved about this Christmas. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. Thats all for now,

Blogmas Day 26 - Boxing Day Essentials

Blogmas Day 26

Hey, so today is Boxing Day which is one of my favourite days of the year so today I thought I would share with you my Boxing Day essentials:

Bubble and Squeak – now this is obviously a big tradition in England and I am guessing the rest of the world because let’s face it who doesn’t have loads of food left over from Christmas dinner, so for those of you who don’t know this is just lots of left over potatoes and vegetables mashed together and although it doesn’t sound too appetising, trust me it is absolutely delicious and if you have never tried it, I suggest that you do.

Watching a Christmas movies – now I know there are probably a lot of people out there thinking that it is wrong to watch Christmas movies when Christmas is over but to be honest I always say that Christmas isn’t a day, it’s a season and a state of mind so for me it’s still Christmas on boxing day and to round of the Christmas season who wouldn’t want to enjoy a quiet night at home watching TV having fun with your family.

Putting away your Christmas presents – now I am a slight bit of a control freak so I really enjoy organising and as sad as this sounds it is a very old tradition for me on boxing day and I just love using my new things and putting them away and filling my room with all the nice things that my friends and family have got me and I know that for some people spending boxing day like this may be insane but I just love to do it.

Sharing your Christmas presents with your friends – now when I say this I don’t mean in a ‘oh look at me with all my fancy gifts way’, I mean talking to your friends about your favourite presents and which you were disappointed with and just talking to your friends in general about your Christmas and I love doing it with my friends and just having fun talking about how amazing Christmas is and our favourite parts.

Eating all the spare Christmas treats – now I don’t know about you but I tend to go overboard on making lots of mince pies, cookies and cupcakes so I know everyone tends to eat a lot of food on Christmas day but it would be a waste not to eat those baked goodies so me and my family always eat the spare treats in front of the TV with a nice hot chocolate trying to soak up the rest of the Christmas magic.

I hope you enjoyed this and let me know what you are doing on Boxing Day this year. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. That’s all for now,

Blogmas Day 23 - Top 5 Great Products for Christmas Time

Blogmas Day 23

Hey, so who doesn’t love Christmas and trying lots of new products that your friends got you, I know I do so I thought that I would share with you my favourite products around Christmas time:

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 01 – so it is an absolute statement thing to wear on Christmas and this is my favourite red lipstick especially for Christmas, this is such a great deep red colour, what I love about this lipstick is how pigmented this is, and how long lasting it is which is what you need through a Christmas meal and how moisturising it is on the lips so if you’re looking for a good Christmas lipstick then this is a great one.

Bourjois Blush in Frosted Rose (54) – so this is definitely one of my favourite blushes ever, I just love how the colour is a pink with gold shimmer to really brighten the skin, also for when you want the look of just being out in the cold this blush really works because of how beautiful the pink is on the cheeks, I really think Bourjois make some of the best blushes because of how gorgeous the colours are.

Nars All Day Luminous Foundation – so I have had this foundation for nearly a year now and although this was too glowy for me in summer because of how oily my skin can be but in winter it leaves such a gorgeous glow on the skin and it just helps your skin look a little more alive because we all know in winter our skin can get a little dry and this foundation is my favourite for making skin look a lot brighter.

Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in Golden Bronze – so we all know how much I love to have glowy skin in winter and this is just perfect for it, this is probably one of the most gorgeous highlighters I have ever owned because it adds such an amazing glow to the top of the cheekbones lasts all day long and to be honest I don’t think that a highlighter could be any more shimmery or glowing on the skin and it just is amazing.

Nars Radiant Creamy concealer – so this is defiantly one of my favourite products all year long but I think that this is especially great in the winter because of how brightening it is and also what I love is how it feels moisturising on your skin so it doesn’t feel at all drying which I think is important in winter to keep your skin looking bright and glowing which this is perfect for and even better that it has a good coverage.

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what your favourite winter products. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. That’s all for now,

Blogmas Day 22 - Christmas Trivia

Blogmas Day 22

Hey, so obviously Christmas isn’t just about the gifts and the company but there actually some story around it so today I thought I would share with you my top 10 unusual Christmas facts:

-Christmas supposedly marks the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25. But there is no mention of December 25 in the Bible and it is thought he was most likely born in the spring.

-Many of the well-known Christmas traditions today found their roots in Saturnalia: Branches from evergreen trees were used during winter solstice as a reminder of the green plants that would grow in spring when the sun gods grew strong.

-December 25 was the actual date of ancient pagan festival Saturnalia, which celebrated the agricultural god Saturn with partying, gambling, and gift-giving.

-The Christmas tree made its way to America in the 1830s but wasn’t popular until 1846, after Germany’s Prince Albert brought it to England when he married Queen Victoria. The British made it popular, go us!

-These evergreen branches became the foundation of our Christmas tree. Germans are thought to be the first to bring “Christmas trees” into their homes at the holidays and decorate them with cookies and lights and then later came the baubles.

-Father Christmas was originally green as shown in Dicken’s Christmas carol but was changed to having red clothes by the company of coca cola but people still think he always had red clothing, the look of the jolly old man giving out gifts was created in 1804 at a meeting.

-The song “White Christmas which is definitely one of my favourite Christmas songs is the most downloaded Christmas song.

-Stockings are used because, a poor man with three daughters couldn’t afford the dowry to have them married. One night, St. Nicholas dropped a bag of gold down the man’s chimney so that his oldest daughter would be able to get married, and the bag fell into a stocking that was drying by the fire, isn’t that just so adorable.

-Rudolph was almost named Rollo or Reginald. Reginald the Red-Nosed Reindeer just doesn’t sound like a reindeer. Rudolph the reindeer was also actually created to be a toy by a department store.

-The most recorded song for Christmas ever is Silent Night with over 733 different versions of the Christmas carol copyrighted since 1978.

I hope you enjoyed this and come back tomorrow for more. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. That’s all for now,

Blogmas Day 21 - Christmas Meal Essentials and What I am having

Blogmas Day 21

Hey, so Christmas meal is a very important part of Christmas day and it is one of my favourite parts of Christmas so today I thought that I would share with you my Christmas meal essentials:

Turkey – so who doesn’t know about the classic turkey for Christmas dinner and I know that some people have different meats for Christmas lunch but to me and I don’t mean this in a rude way but it just seems insane to me because it is such a traditional food to have at Christmas and when people say they don’t like it I just don’t understand that, but to be honest I just love turkey with a nice big spoon of cranberry sauce on top.

Stuffing – so I think that I have sound this before but I have recently started to really love stuffing especially the more unusual flavours of stuffing and I really enjoy when the flavour of the stuffing actually goes through into the turkey, I also feel like this is such an important part of the traditional Christmas meal especially in England and it is quickly becoming one of my favourite parts of the Christmas meal.

Parsnips, Peas, Broccoli and Carrots – now this may seem random I guess but as a kid I just loved the way my Dad cooked the vegetables, I don’t really know how he did this but every Christmas despite the fact that he often cooked these vegetables, the food tastes just special and somehow better than usual and I think that’s why now I just find Christmas so special so all of these vegetables are an absolute necessity to me.

Gravy – so I absolutely love the different tastes of food and the different flavours encased in different types of foods and to be honest and I just know that as time goes on I’m going to become a massive foodie but because of the way gravy is made it has so many flavours in it and I really think that it enhances the food and it makes the food more enjoyable and to be honest who doesn’t love coating their food in gravy on Christmas.

Christmas Pudding or Cake – so to be honest I don’t even like Christmas pudding or Christmas cake but I think because its Christmas it’s such an iconic Christmas food I always have some at the dinner table and despite it not being my favourite food I just love to have a little bit to really get me in the Christmassy mood and I think to be honest not only to me but to my family without this food at Christmas it wouldn’t feel like Christmas.

I hope you enjoyed this and let me know what you will be having at Christmas this year. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. That’s all for now,

Blogmas Day 2 - Drugstore Christmas Day Makeup Look

Blogmas Day 20

Hey, so I have already spoken about my Christmas party look but my Christmas day look is slightly different and I try to keep it a bit for quick and easy and less extravagant and to make it for everyone I have decided to just use drugstore products:

Base

So I start with the Soap and Glory The Fab Pore Oil Control Serum and I just rub this into my skin with my fingers, the reason I like this is because not only does it prime but it feels really good for my skin. Next for the foundation I use the Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation to have a nice glowy effect on the skin and I just buff this in to my skin with the real techniques expert face brush and then I use the Rimmel Wake me up concealer underneath my eyes and the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer on any blemishes and I just blend that in with the same brush. Finally I set my whole face with my favourite powder Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot in Transparent and the real techniques powder brush and I just pat the powder into my skin especially in my T-Zone because I want this makeup to last.

Adding Colour

So to start with I just bronze slightly with my Eco tools mattyifying brush and the Soap and Glory Solar Powder to add a little bit of colour, next I just blend in some of the Bourjois Aqua Blush with my fingers to add a nice pink onto the cheeks, and finally to add a nice glow I use the Collection Blush and Glow palette highlighter because it’s such a glowy colour on the cheeks and for that I use the real techniques base shadow brush because it allows a much more controlled highlight.

Eyes

So for my eyes I use the MaxFactor Excess Shimmer in Copper which is such a nice shimmering gold colour and I just apply this with my finger, I really love how long it lasts and how creamy the texture is, next for mascara to really open up the eyes I use the Maybelline The Falsies Push up Drama mascara which I love because it really lengthens the eyelashes and makes the eyes look big and bright, for eyebrows I just fill them in with the Seventeen Eye Brush and the powder from the Seventeen Brows That Kit and this creates a really natural brow and then just use my finger to apply the highlighter onto the brow bone.

Lips

To moisturise I use the Body Shop Lip Oil in the scent Rose and just wait a few moments for it to sink into my lips then I use the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid in 25 Orange Shot and although this is a bright red but at Christmas go big or go home and what I love about this product is how long it lasts.

I hope you enjoyed this and let me know what makeup you will have on for Christmas day. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. That’s all for now,

Blogmas Day 19 - Christmas Outfit Esssentials

Blogmas Day 19

Hey, so who doesn’t love wearing a comfy Christmas jumper on Christmas day s today I thought that I would share with you my Christmas day outfit essentials:

Christmas hat – so this is definitely a classic Christmas special that I will wear for the whole Christmas season, the one thing I would say about Christmas hats is that when people have Christmas hats some people can go a bit overboard and add lots of glitter and sequins and although that does look nice but to me I just think that the classic Christmas hat just looks so much better than something tacky but that is just my opinion.

Christmas Jumper – so one of my favourite things about Christmas is going out shopping for Christmas jumpers with my friends trying to find the best festive jumper not only for Christmas day but for the whole of December to try and to be honest with you wearing Christmas jumpers really helps me get in the Christmas mood, and to be honest I don’t think that I have actually ever met anyone who loves Christmas as much as me who doesn’t love a Christmas jumper.

Christmas Socks – now I definitely love anything that is themed and if something is themed towards a holiday let alone my favourite holiday of the year and to be honest with you I just love to theme my socks because I feel like you can be as crazy as you want with it and when it comes to me, crazy is one of my favourite things so whip out those Santa socks because how can you be Christmassy without them plus they keep those toes toasty warm.

Some sort of glitter – so I’m pretty sure that I have said this before but Christmas is the season for glitter and shimmer on everything and I really think that it helps me get into the Christmas spirit and also who doesn’t want to match your outfit to tinsel so I try to infuse some kind of glitter into my Christmas outfit, be it in the clothes, makeup or I guess even in hair but better to have glitter than to not to have it right?

Lots of layers of clothing – so this is more about staying warm in probably one of the more cold days of the year but I genuinely just hate being cold and to be cold on Christmas day would just be terrible so I really try to layer as many layers of clothes as I possibly can to keep warm especially when you go out at night time to see the lights on all of the houses which I love to do but no matter what you are doing on Christmas day, stay as warm as possible.

I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what you will be wearing on Christmas day. Let me know of anything you would like me to talk about in another future post. That’s all for now,
